Interesting, not so much a critique as a few quick suggestions. 1) Might want a point light or two to show the flame as a light source (there are some nice fire brushes on DA for post work if you are in to that). 2) Expressions can make or break a 3d image. Anything that defeats the dead pan expressions that are innate in this media always help. 3) With an underwater background, Blue light balance goes a long ways (esp with the orange contrast of the flame). Also with the background you might consider caustic light effects, very mild fog or a gel to emulate waves scattering light (even post work brushes). Always like seeing new work, keep it up
No problem. Sorry for the late response, RL (rendering)keeps me busy. I don't pretend to be an expert at this since I've only been using Daz for a year, I just know what appeals to me...and in the end that's really all we can strive for. Personally I'm a huge fan of point lights, I keep adding more and more for some reason, soon I won't be using distance or spots just points
Well I have been known to use in excess of 20 points, 3 spots and 2 distance Generally I find lighting the most important aspect of back ground, too many years of the original Star Trek I guess. Dragonfly and Poolplay are a hint of what happens if I let myself go on lights...huge electrical bill for those sets
